Top 16 Harry Potter Gifts for Adult Harry Potter Fans

harry potter gift ideas for adult fans

Ever since I stayed up for two days straight to devour the first four Harry Potter books and then waited hungrily for the release of the fifth…I knew Harry Potter wasn’t just for kids.

Nuh-uh. No way children get to hog all the magic and fantastical fun. Especially when it’s adults that have the moolah with which to purchase all the Harry Potter relics our heart desires. And our my heart desires it all…

Whether you’re an HP fan yourself or a muggle trying to shop for a fan, you’re in luck – I’ve put together a list of the best Harry Potter gifts for adults. These are the best HP gifts out there…so far. I’ll let you know when they come up with something that lets us play quidditch or disapparate.

1. The Complete Harry Potter Book Set in Hardcover

This is the most obvious gift for ardent Harry Potter fans. This was where it all started — the books written by author JK Rowling. Sure, they probably own some of the HP books already, but do they have the full set? And are all the books beautiful hardcovers in perfect condition? Most likely not. Which is precisely why this makes a lovely gift. It’s the sort of thing most people would never get for themselves but would be delighted to receive.

The entire set of 7 books comes in a sturdy Harry Potter-themed chest with privacy lock — just in case if you need to keep them away from your muggle children. Bonus: decorative stickers.

Every Harry Potter fan has read all the HP books. Probably more than once.

But have they read any Hogwarts classics like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them or Quidditch Through the Ages? Do they even know the history of Quidditch? Do they?!

I think not. I know I haven’t. I did watch the Fantastic Beasts movie and it’s very entertaining. That’s something intriguing about wizards firing lightning bolts from the tip of their wands.

Provide your HP fan the gift of complete knowledge with this beautiful boxed set directly from the Hogwarts Library.

3. Official Gryffindor Scarf

Yes, the majority of people sporting these scarves are a little under 4 feet tall…but hey, a scarf is a scarf and this one is awesome.

It’s a 100% lamb wool scarf in rich purple, accented with yellow stripes, and emblazoned with a rather official-looking Gryffindor emblem.

Any self-respecting Harry Potter fan would rock this with pride — unless you’re one of them Slytherin kids. And if you’re more of a Ravenclaw supporter, check out these cool Ravenclaw house scarves.
4. Official Gryffindor Scarf (Part Two)

In case your HP fan doesn’t do purple, this bright, classic red and yellow scarf will do the trick:

4. Magic Wand Remote Control

Young Harry Potter fans might be content with a plastic wand and their imagination but most adults – no matter how fanatically they adore Harry – won’t be pleased with a wand that does nothing. A magic wand that does nothing is literally just a useless stick.

So why not get them a magic wand? This is not your ordinary magic wand that can only be used by someone who has wizard blood, i.e. not muggles like us. This wand is the result of years (days?) of intense research — a collaboration between the Wizard Council and the Royal Academy of Science. It allows a muggle to exert some influence on certain muggle toys such as the TV, DVD players, DVRs, and stereo systems.

All you have to do is grasp it in your hands and with a flick and a swish, you’re magically turning on the TV and flipping channels. Oh and if it doesn’t work, you probably forgot to say the spell name out loud: Channelio Changio! (Sorry, I’m not great with spell names)

5. Dumbledore Quote Wall Art

In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, as part of Dumbledore’s address to the students of Hogwarts Wizarding School, he inspires the young wizards to be mindful and proactive seek out happiness especially during hard times. He said, “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.” It is a powerful quote. And now you can frame it and hang it on your wall. Complete with beautiful watercolor floral graphics.

6. Platform 9 3/4 King’s Cross Poster Print

The best Harry Potter gifts do one thing: gently and unobtrusively remind the receiver of something that makes him or her happy.

Take, for example, this beautiful reference to Platform 9 3/4, pretty much the point where Harry’s whole journey began. No true HP fan can look at this and not feel enlivened at the thought of magic hiding somewhere behind the most mundane of places.
7. Full Door Platform 9 and 3/4 Sticker

Know someone who’s pretty vocal about their love for all things Harry Potter?

Help them declare their love to the world with this beautiful, full-door decal.

Possibly one of the coolest Harry Potter gifts I’ve come across.
8. Honeyduke’s Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Botts Candy Set

One of the best ways to experience a culture is through food. But whereas you have access to pretty much every culture’s cuisine, the Harry Potter world of culinary delights remains just a little out of reach… ‘Til now.

If you’re shopping for a Harry Potter fan who also happens to be epicurious, gift them the loveliest combination of HP fanfare and tastebud curiosities with a boxed set of Honeyduke’s Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Botts Candy.

9. Butterscotch (non-alcoholic) Beer

Bonus points if you toss in a 6-pack of the Flying Cauldron’s Butterscotch Beer (non-alcoholic) to wash down the candy with!

10. Wizard-in-Training T-shirt

There’s nothing wrong being a muggle — except not being able to use magic and that freaking sucks. Anyway, perhaps the reason why you can’t use magic is you can’t control it properly yet. Hide your muggle blood from the rest of the wizarding world by wearing this t-shirt at all time. Fool everyone into thinking that you’re a wizard-in-training.

11. The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook

Candy and butterbeer are lovely, of course, but what about those HP fans who want to taste everything the wizarding world has to offer?

And who wouldn’t? I know I wasn’t the only one salivating at nearly every meal Harry, Ron, and Hermione feasted on. The stuff just sounds delish – treacle tarts and treacle fudge, meat pies, and those pumpkin pasties that they’re always munching on…

Well, now every HP fan can cook up their Harry Potter’s culinary favorites (and even his un-favorites, like Hagrid’s rock cakes) with the help of the Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook:From Cauldron Cakes to Knickerbocker Glory.

Who knows? If you gift this to a friend, you might soon be tasting some other-worldly treats yourself.
12. Harry Potter Gryffindor Cotton Hooded Bathrobe

This is officially the coolest robe I’ve ever seen and the perfect addition to any HP lover’s closet bathroom hook.

100% cotton. An official Gryffindor seal. And a kick-a** hood. What’s not to like? It even has flared arms made to look like robes!

Guaranteed to be warmly welcomed into the bathrooms – and bedrooms – of any HP fan.

In case your HP fan prefers snuggies over bathrobes – check out this amazingly comfy throw blanket with sleeves. It’s thick and suitable for the winter and quite cute, too.

13. Snitch Pendant Pocket Watch Necklace

This last one is a personal favorite – a beautiful golden snitch necklace that opens up to reveal an adorable pocket watch.

14. Accio Magic Spell Coffee Spoon

What’s better than waking up to a steaming cup of lovely coffee? Waking up to a cup of steaming coffee accompanied by a Harry Potter sugar spoon, of course!

This lovely lightening-bolt inscribed accio coffee spoon will put a smile on your Potter fan’s face every single morning.

15. Morphing Hogwarts Crest Mug

This is the perfect Harry Potter gift for anyone who loves Harry Potter and drinks hot beverages…so pretty much everyone. Just pour some hot coffee, hot cocoa or tea into this heat activated mug and watch in amusement as the emblem of Hogwarts magic school magically appears.

How to make this more fun for you: Don’t tell them what it does and instead watch their reaction when they first witness it magically change color :)

16. Hogwarts Wooden Steamer Trunk

This is one of the coolest Harry Potter gifts of all time: an all-wood, aged steamer trunk like the one Harry would pile all his stuff into in a rush whenever he was leaving the Dursleys.

The trunk looks and feels antique, ‘though its new, and it even comes with the Patronus of your choice inscribed on the inside of the trunk. Perfect trunk for holding (and showcasing) books and other memorabilia.

What do you think of these Harry Potter stuff? I know there’s quite a few of them that I’d like to get for myself. What about you? Let us know by following us on Pinterest.
